Biography
Demitrus T. Evans, J.D., LL.M., is the Managing Partner of The Evans International Law Firms, LLC (“TEIL Firms”), an Illinois-based business law firm. With more than 27 years of experience, she advises businesses and entrepreneurs on international trade and regulatory compliance, cross-border transactions, corporate governance, commercial contracts, intellectual property protection, and business disputes.
Attorney Evans earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and her LL.M. in International Business and Trade Law, with a concentration in finance, from The John Marshall Law School. She is admitted to practice before the Illinois Supreme Court, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the United States Court of International Trade, and multiple federal district courts. She is also a member of the Trial Bar for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Attorney Evans serves as an arbitrator in Cook County and as a federal court mediator. She has held leadership positions with the Illinois District Export Council, the African Global Chamber of Commerce, Global Chamber Chicago, and the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago. She also teaches and speaks on international trade, intellectual property, business law, entrepreneurship, and legal risk management.
Through her practice, Attorney Evans helps businesses protect their ideas, strengthen their agreements, manage domestic and international legal risks, and position themselves for sustainable growth. Her approach combines experienced legal counsel with practical business strategy.
