Biography
David currently maintains a solo law practice focusing on government relations, including serving as the Illinois State Bar Association's Legislative Counsel. David has much experience in and out of Illinois government, including having served as Legislative Counsel to the Governor, Senior Policy Advisor for the Executive Ethics Commission, Deputy Director at Central Management Services, Chief of Staff at the Illinois Department of Corrections, Assistant Counsel to the Illinois Speaker of the House, and Legislative Director for the Taxpayers' Federation of Illinois.
In the Olympic Movement, David serves as a Member of the USA Fencing Grievance & Discipline Committee. He has previously served as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of both USA Volleyball and USA Team Handball.
David has also served as an Officer in the U.S. Navy-Reserves.
David possesses a J.D. from Tulane University Law School and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Mississippi, and the District of Columbia.
David resides in Springfield, Illinois, with his wife, Sara, and their two daughters.
