Biography

Michael A. Zuckerman, Esq., is a mediator, arbitrator, and neutral evaluator. His practice involves business relationships, consumer-facing services, workplace issues, and emerging technology-related claims.

Mr. Zuckerman’s matters include breach of contract, fraud, disputes among owners of closely held businesses, claims involving financial institutions and payment platforms, and employment disputes involving discrimination, wage and hour issues, and other workplace concerns. 

He also has substantial experience with data privacy and cybersecurity matters, including class actions involving website tracking technologies and data breaches, as well as individual claims involving account compromise, identity theft, and cryptocurrency. He has handled many disputes arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), including claims involving credit reporting accuracy and reasonable procedures.

Prior to joining JAMS, Mr. Zuckerman was a trial and appellate litigator at Jones Day, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil litigation. He also served as a judicial law clerk to Hon. Amy J. St. Eve on both the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, as well as Hon. Eric L. Clay of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and Hon. Cheryl L. Pollak of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. 

In addition to his neutral practice, Mr. Zuckerman serves on the Board of Directors of the JAMS Foundation and as an officer of both the Association of Attorney-Mediators and the Dispute Resolution Institute. He teaches ADR at Northern Illinois University College of Law and writes and speaks frequently on dispute resolution.
