JACKSON-AKIWUMI

Defendant was found guilty of soliciting obscene material from a minor, transferring obscene matter to a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, and committing a felony involving a minor while required to register as a sex offender. On appeal, he challenged the sufficiency of the evidence for the soliciting and transferring charges. He also challenged one of the district court’s evidentiary rulings and the court’s replacement of a juror during deliberations. The Seventh Circuit found no error and affirmed the judgment finding, among other things, that the soliciting and transferring charges could be proven solely by circumstantial evidence.
