Available to lawyer members (except judges and inactive, retired, and military members), this directory has additional client-oriented search options, a contact form for privacy, and is completely free.

Lawyer Referral Service (Telephone)

ISBA members (excluding associate, law student, and retired members) in good standing and licensed in Illinois who carry professional liability insurance can become Lawyer Referral Service members.

The ISBA advertises this service to the public throughout Illinois. Compliance Statement for IRPC 7.2

Effective July 1, 2025, Illinois Rule of Professional Conduct 7.2 was amended to regulate lawyers’ participation in Intermediary Connecting Services (“ICS”), including not-for-profit referral services like the ISBA’s Lawyer Referral Service. Among other obligations, lawyers must confirm certain practices of any ICS with whom they participate (See How Time Flies). This due diligence obligation can be satisfied by a written confirmation from the ICS. See LRS’ Statement of Compliance with IRPC 7.2.
