Joint Midyear Meeting

Illinois State Bar Association | Illinois Judges Association
December 9 - 10, 2021

Welcome

Anna P. Krolikowska

It's my pleasure to announce that the Joint Midyear Meeting will once again be held virtually this year on December 9–10. As always, I look forward to joining our friends at the Illinois Judges Association for some truly exceptional programs. In addition to our usual business meetings and meetings of the ISBA Board of Governors and Assembly, we'll also have some great CLE sessions. A distinguished panel of judges will discuss civility, decorum, and order in the court, and nationally-recognized speakers Dana and Keith Cutler will present a program on Rooting Out Racial Bias. I hope you will all join me as we gather together remotely in December.

Anna P. Krolikowska
ISBA President

Judge Barb Crowder

The Illinois Judges Association continues to enjoy our Joint Meeting with the ISBA every December. Even though this is the second time our associations have decided the safety of our members in the uncertainty of the pandemic warrants meeting virtually, we are excited about the ability to share our CLE program and meetings with all of our members throughout the State. We congratulate ISBA President Anna Krolikowska and the ISBA for their successes so far despite the challenges.

We urge our members to register for the CLE program that will focus on issues important to us all. Plus some judges will be role-playing and their acting should not be missed. The IJA is also celebrating our 50th Anniversary and I invite all ISBA and IJA members to hear Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis and to congratulate our Past Presidents and other awardees. I look forward to seeing you all virtually.

Judge Barb Crowder (Ret.)
IJA President

Listen as our speakers present vignettes detailing potential chaos in the courtroom, the applicable rules that currently exist on each issue, strategies to resolve the issues, best practices for judges and attorneys in common situations, and how to interrupt behavior before it rises to the level of reporting and discipline.
