Defendant was found guilty of illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition and was sentenced to 84 months in prison. Defendant, who was on parole at the time of the offense, appealed and challenged his conviction arguing that the evidence did not support his conviction. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that parolees lack the same armament rights as free persons and that defendant was not a “law-abiding, responsible” person who had a constitutional right to possess firearms.
