Defendant appealed from his conviction for violating the Hobbs Act, alleging that the district court committed error when it denied his post-trial motions and challenging the sufficiency of the evidence. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that the district court did not abuse its discretion in denying the post-trial motions and explaining that the case against the defendant was “overwhelming” so that the jury had a more than sufficient basis to conclude that defendant conspired to interfere with commerce by robbing a drug dealer.
