U.S. v. Shehadeh

Defendant appealed from his conviction and sentence after he was found guilty of buying methamphetamine from a confidential informant, arguing that the district court incorrectly precluded his cross-examination of a witness about several instances of past conduct. Defendant also argued that the district court erred by applying the obstruction of justice sentencing enhancement. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that defendant waived his evidentiary argument and that any error with regard to sentencing was harmless because the career offender enhancement controlled the length of his sentence.
