Federal 7th Circuit Court
Civil Court
Rehabilitation Act
Plaintiff filed a lawsuit under the Rehabilitation Act alleging that the defendant dismissed her from the College of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program because of a disability. The district court granted summary judgment for the defendant, finding that plaintiff failed to present evidence from which a reasonable jury could conclude that the defendant dismissed her solely on her disability. The Seventh Circuit affirmed explaining that even when the evidence was viewed in the light most favorable to the plaintiff, it showed that defendant accommodated plaintiff’s disabilities and applied its academic standards without discrimination.
