Federal 7th Circuit Court
Criminal Court
Sentencing
Defendant was found guilty of wire fraud and securities fraud for stealing money from investors and was sentenced to 97 months in prison. The court calculated that the loss amount led to an 18-level sentencing enhancement and also ordered that defendant pay restitution. On appeal, defendant argued that the district court committed reversible error in its loss-enhancement and restitution calculations. The Seventh Circuit found no errors and affirmed.
