Federal 7th Circuit Court
Civil Court
Sex Discrimination
Plaintiff filed a lawsuit against the defendant after he was expelled from the defendant university alleging that his expulsion amounted to unlawful sex discrimination and breach of contract. The district court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendant, finding that there was insufficient evidence to support a finding of sex discrimination for either of the plaintiff’s claims. Plaintiff appealed and the Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that plaintiff did not establish sufficient evidence from which a reasonable factfinder could conclude that the university made its disciplinary decision on the basis of sex.
