Plaintiff, an inmate in a state prison, filed a lawsuit under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 against the prison’s doctor and other officials alleging that they violated the Eighth Amendment based on him allegedly being placed in a cell without a sink or a toilet and receiving medical care was delayed or substandard. The district court granted defendant’s motion for summary judgment and plaintiff appealed. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that plaintiff could not show the defendants acted unreasonably given what they knew. (BRENNAN and JACKSON-AKIWUMI, concurring)
