Federal 7th Circuit Court
Criminal Court
Motion to Suppress
Defendant pled guilty to federal drug charges but reserved the right to appeal the district court’s denial of his motion to suppress a gun and drugs found during defendant’s arrest when law enforcement executed a warrant. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, explaining that the district court did not err when it denied the motion to dismiss where defendant did not challenge the arrest and that it was reasonable for officers to take possession of defendant’s possessions at the time of his arrest.
