Federal 7th Circuit Court
Civil Court
Evidence
Plaintiff filed a lawsuit for personal injuries alleging that he was seriously injured when beverage containers flew off a collapsing cooler shelf and struck him. The district court ruled in defendant’s favor and plaintiff appealed, arguing that the district court made errors in its evidentiary rulings during a bench trial. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that plaintiff failed to show that defendant negligently caused his injuries and that the district court did not abuse its discretion in limiting evidence and testimony at trial.
