Probable Cause
Plaintiff filed a lawsuit for false arrest and malicious prosecution pursuant to 42 U.S.C. ยง 1983 after officers searched a vehicle plaintiff had occupied and found a handgun under his seat. The district court granted summary judgment to defendants by finding that there was probable cause for the arrest and prosecution. The Seventh Circuit agreed and affirmed.
