Federal 7th Circuit Court
Civil Court
Employment Discrimination
Plaintiff filed a lawsuit alleging race and age discrimination after he was passed over for a promotion and the role was given to an external candidate. The district court granted summary judgment for the defendant and plaintiff appealed. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, explaining that it agreed with the district court’s conclusion that plaintiff failed to show that the company’s justification for its decision was pretextual.
