Federal 7th Circuit Court
Civil Court
Religious Discrimination
Plaintiff was fired from her job as a hospital pharmacist after she refused to obtain a Covid-19 vaccine, for purported religious reasons. She filed a lawsuit alleging religious discrimination in violation of the Civil Rights Act. The district court granted summary judgment to the defendant and plaintiff appealed. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that the district court did not err when it found no dispute of material fact that the county would have faced undue hardship by exempting plaintiff from the mandatory vaccine policy.
