Ten-year time limit for admissibility of prior convictions should not include the MSR period. Defendant was denied effective assistance of counsel when his counsel allowed State to impeach him with evidence of his conviction which was more than 10 years old, and counsel either failed to investigate the details of that conviction or was aware of them and misapprehended the law.
