Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Termination of Parental Rights
Court's finding of mother's unfitness, on three separate statutory grounds, was supported by manifest weight of evidence. Mother's visits with children were inconsistent, as her behavior and choices, including her decision to move to Colorado, interfered with visits, and she continued to abuse drugs and failed to undergo drug evaluation. Evidence at best interests hearing support conclusion that statutory factors weight strongly in favor of terminating mother's parental rights and placing her two minor children for adoption by current foster parents.
