Court properly granted Defendants' motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict on Plaintiff's professional negligence claim. Plaintiff alleged that defendants owed a duty to procure replacement insurance for Plaintiff but breached that duty, and that breach proximately caused loss in terms of no insurance coverage for property damage claim for water damage due to leaking roof in building in which Plaintiff leased space. To find a duty for insurance producer to provide specific, the insured must make a request for that specific coverage. Insurance producer is not required to review insurance application with insured for accuracy, and is not required to advise them on necessity of providing accurate information, under duty for brokers denied in Section 2-22-1(a) of Code of Civil Procedure. (LIU and CONNORS, concurring.)
