COVID-19 Information and Resources

The health and safety of our members and staff is of the utmost importance to the ISBA. While developments related to COVID-19 continue to unfold, the ISBA is monitoring a variety of sources, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, World Health Organization, Illinois Department of Public Health, Cook County Department for Public Health, and the State of Illinois for the latest updates.

ISBA Meetings, Events, and Programs

Currently, the ISBA is taking the following actions:

ISBA Offices & Operations

The ISBA staff is fully prepared to continue to serve the membership, subject the current curtailment of in-person meetings, events, and programs. Staff may be contacted by telephone or email. For the time being, the ISBA’s offices in Chicago and Springfield will not be open.

ISBA Business Meetings

Until further notice, all ISBA business meetings will be conducted via conference call or video conferencing. Any questions regarding remote attendance should be directed to the section council’s or committee’s staff liaison.

ISBA Events

Until further notice, all in-person ISBA events have been canceled or postponed until further notice.

ISBA CLE Programs

Until further notice, the ISBA will not be providing live in-person programs. All live on-site CLE programs will be canceled, postponed, or delivered as webcasts or webinars. Please check the Upcoming CLE page for the current status.

ISBA Resources

ISBA Central

The ISBA has created a COVID-19 Community devoted to the pandemic on ISBA Central. The community is open to all ISBA members and is designed to help attorneys share information with their colleagues throughout Illinois.

ISBA Articles

ISBA articles on COVID-19 are now easily available in one place and we have made the section newsletter articles on COVID-19 available to all ISBA members regardless of section membership. (Bar News posts on COVID-19 can be found below on the page you are on now.)

ISBA CLE

The ISBA has developed a number of COVID-19 CLE programs related to changing laws and practice issues to assist you in staying current with legal developments during the pandemic.

Vaccination Information

Under Illinois’ COVID-19 vaccination plan, those who work in the legal profession may be eligible to receive the vaccination in Phase 1(c). To learn more about county-specific vaccination plans, visit your county’s department of public health website.

The ISBA has provided a list of updates to Illinois court operations. Please refer back to this page as it will be updated with new information as it becomes available. A remote hearings directory has been created for the Supreme, Appellate, and Circuit Courts in Illinois.

The ISBA has compiled a list of mental health and wellness resources for attorneys, which are provided by the ABA Commission on Lawyers Assistance Program.
