Court affirmed decisions of Board of Trustees of Police Pension Fund denying Plaintiff's motion to continue hearing on officer's application for a line-of-duty disability pension, denying Plaintiff's motion to reconsider, and dismissing his claim for want of prosecution. Board was allowed to possess relevant documents prior to hearing, as evidentiary rules are relaxed in administrative hearings. No evidence that Board's denial of motion to continue was based on any reports or on improper review of a City investigative file. Board acted within its discretion in its rulings. Board timely notified Plaintiff of hearing dates and was ready to hear his case on those dates, but Plaintiff chose not to be present. (McLAREN and JORGENSEN, concurring.)
