Jury verdict for Plaintiff for $22.18 million in medical malpractice case, alleging that negligence of hospital's nurses and doctors caused clot in daughter's tracheostomy tube caused respiratory arrest and then permanent brain damage. after case was submitted to jury but before verdict was returned, daughter died. plaintiff was appointed as special representative of her estate to receive verdict. Judgment affirmed, but jury's award of $15 million in future damages is vacated, as decedent's estate should not collect for damages decedent will no longer suffer. Evidence on causation sufficient to withstand motion for new trial. (NEVILLE and PUCINSKI, concurring).
