Illinois Appellate Court
Criminal Court
Driving While Revoked
Defendant was stopped for improper left turn, and was ticketed for driving while license revoked. Court granted Defendant's motion to suppress evidence arising out of traffic stop. Defendant did not violate the law by exiting intersection into the farthest lane of traffic, based on plain reading of unambiguous language of Motor Vehicle Code which allows a driver making a left turn to exit intersection into any available lane of traffic moving in the proper direction.(KNECHT and DeARMOND, concurring.)
