Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Discovery
Court properly granted summary judgment for Defendant, denying Plaintiff's request for additional discovery and striking its affidavits. Plaintiff's description of its "trade secret" was too general to be deemed a trade secret as a matter of law. Court properly denied Plaintiff's request for discovery per Rule 191(b); its request was after 4 years of litigation, and it should have been able to prove that it possessed a trade secret from its own sources. Court properly struck conclusory portions of affidavits of Plaintiff's employees.(BIRKETT and ZENOFF, concurring.)
