Township Officers Electoral Board issued orders upholding Defendant's objection to candidacies of candidates for township offices of supervisor and trustee, and striking candidates' names from ballots for 4/6/21 consolidated election. Circuit court reversed Board's orders and ordered the candidates' names to appear on the ballot. Section 10-1 of Election Code does not apply to nominations for township office made by established political parties under caucus procedures of article 45 of Township Code. Candidates' nomination papers were required to comply with only section 45-20 of Township Code. The township central committee chairperson filed a proper "certification" of names of all candidates for office in township nominated as that term is used in section 45-20 of Township Code; it is distinct from the "certificate of nomination" required under section 10-1(a) of Election Code, and it need not be sworn.
