Respondent appealed from adjudication orders finding her two minor children neglected due to an injurious environment under section 2-3(1)(b) of the Juvenile Court Act, as well as from subsequent dispositional orders making the minors wards of the court. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the trial court was not required to find that the juveniles were actually harmed by their mother’s drug use when it found that her drug use created an injurious environment and, as a result, that the trial court’s findings of neglect were not against the manifest weight of the evidence. The court also found that the respondent had waived objection to the admission of drug test evidence and, further, even if it was improper it was not prejudicial error because there was ample other evidence to support the trial court’s findings.
