Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Termination of Parental Rights
Respondent appealed from an order of the circuit court terminating her parental rights on the basis that she failed to show reasonable interest, concern, or responsibility for her minor child. The appellate court affirmed, concluding that the trial court’s order was not against the manifest weight of the evidence where the record supported a finding that the respondent did not fully engage with the required parent and therapy services, did not appropriately engage with her daughter, and was unable to comply with requirements regarding substance abuse.
