Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Professional Licensing
Plaintiff appealed from the suspension of his medical license subsequent to a finding that he violated the Medical Practice Act and the Illinois Controlled Substances Act when he overprescribed controlled substances to two patients with substance abuse issues. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the conclusions of the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation were supported by the record and that plaintiff did not establish that his sanction was disproportionate to similarly situated individuals.
