Illinois Appellate Court
Criminal Court
Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking
Defendant appealed from his conviction for aggravated vehicular hijacking, arguing that there was insufficient evidence to prove the aggravating factor that there was a 15-year-old passenger in the stolen vehicle at the time of the offense. The appellate court affirmed, finding that even though the minor exited the vehicle a short time after the defendant hijacked it, the evidence supported a finding that the aggravating factor existed at the time of the offense.
