Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Civil Procedure
Plaintiff appealed from a trial court order setting aside a default judgment against the defendant and the issue on appeal was whether the private process server the plaintiff used to serve the complaint was able to obtain out-of-state in-person service on the defendant. The appellate court concluded that the service was sufficient and, as a result, the trial court had personal jurisdiction over the defendant. The appellate court reversed the order of the trial court and remanded for further proceedings. (MOORE and VAUGHAN, concurring)
