Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Law of the Case
Plaintiffs filed a lawsuit against multiple entities including City of Chicago alleging improper diminution of pension benefits, breach of contract, estoppel, impairtment of contract, and denial of equal protection. The circuit court granted a motion for summary judgment filed by the City of Chicago finding that the city did not have an obligation to provide additional monetary contributions or guarantee affordable healthcare and the plaintiffs appealed. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the appellate court in a prior appeal involving this matter had already concluded that the plaintiffs have not right to receive their requested relief from the city.
