People v. Minssen

Defendant appealed from an order granting the State’s petition to detain her before trial under the Pretrial Fairness Act. The appellate court reversed and remanded, finding that the trial court abused its discretion where the State did not present the trial court with the basic information it would need to determine whether defendant’s conduct involved the threat of or infliction of great bodily harm or disfigurement so as to constitute a forcible felony under the Act.
