Petitioner and respondent dissolved their marriage in 1992 and the order of dissolution included an agreement that petitioner would receive monthly payments equal to a portion of the respondent’s Army disability retirement pay and Veterans Administration disability benefits. In 2019, respondent petitioned the circuit court to terminate the monthly payments, alleging that the order was void because the court lacked jurisdiction to divide his federal benefits. Petitioner filed a motion to dismiss, which the trial court granted and the respondent appealed.
