In an interlocutory appeal of a dissolution of marriage case, respondent argued that the dissolution court denied her access to counsel in violation of her procedural and substantive due process rights and that the court’s appointment of a guardian ad litem was void because the trial court had no legal justification to order the appointment. The appellate court dismissed the appeal, finding that the appointment of a guardian ad litem was not a void judgment and the orders on appeal were not final and appealable.
