People v. Young

Defendant, who was charged with aggravated battery, three counts of armed robbery, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, appealed from a trial court order denying him pretrial release. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the trial court did not abuse its discretion where it properly considered the requisite factors, including the nature and circumstances of the offense, and that it was not against the manifest weight of the evidence for the court to conclude that defendant was not likely to comply with any conditions of pretrial release.
