Defendant appealed from an order entered by the circuit court finding him unfit, determining that he was in need of inpatient mental health treatment, and ordering that he be placed in a secure setting because he constituted a serious threat to public safety. Defendant argued that the court misinterpreted section 104-25 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and that this led to his improper commitment and that the court’s determination that he required inpatient mental health treatment was against the manifest weight of the evidence. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the trial court did not err in its implementation of the statute and that its findings were not against the manifest weight of the evidence.
