Younge v. Berman

Plaintiff appealed from the circuit court’s order dismissing his second amended complaint alleging that the defendant committed defamation per se and tortious interference with a prospective economic advantage. On appeal, plaintiff argued that he properly stated claims for relief relating to each claim. The appellate court affirmed, finding that plaintiff’s complaint failed to allege that defendant’s actions intended to interfere with a prospective economic advantage, as is required to state a claim, and that the complaint did not allege facts establishing a viable claim for defamation per se.
