Jefferson v. Chicago Housing Authority

The appellate court considered an expedited appeal of plaintiff’s motion to temporarily enjoin the Chicago Housing Authority from terminating her participation in the housing choice voucher program pending the outcome of her challenge to the merits of the decision. The circuit court had concluded that plaintiff failed to make the requisite showing for relief. The appellate court disagreed and reversed, ordering that defendant make rent subsidy payments pending the outcome of plaintiff’s challenge to its final decision on the matter.
