Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Termination of Parental Rights
Respondent appealed from an order of the circuit court terminating her parental rights to her minor daughter, arguing that the court’s order finding that she was an unfit parent and that it was in the minor’s best interest to terminate her parental rights were against the manifest weight of the evidence. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the circuit court’s conclusions were not against the manifest weight of the evidence where respondent was unable to complete services and failed to adequately progress towards unification despite a long period of time to allow for reunification.
