Petitioner appealed from an order of the Illinois Human Rights Commission sustaining the dismissal of her charge of workplace racial discrimination against her employer. The commission found that the department lacked jurisdiction over the petitioner’s charge because she did not submit the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission determination to the department within 30 days of receiving it as is required by the Illinois Human Rights Act. The appellate court affirmed. The appellate court also entered sanctions against the petitioner’s attorney for submitting briefs containing false citations and quotations that were the product of AI hallucinations.
