Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Wrongful Death
Appellant, as the heir of the deceased and true party in interest in a wrongful death case, appealed from the trial court’s finding that Illinois law rather than Alabama law applied to the distribution of settlement proceeds of the action and from the denial of her motion to reconsider the choice-of-law provision. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the trial court properly found that Illinois law applied where the relevant choice-of-law factors, including the place where the injury occurred, supported that finding.
