Petitioner appealed from an order of the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board finding that the college violated the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act when it terminated the respondent employee’s employment. On appeal, the college argued that the board erred in finding and concluding that the employee’s grievance was a motivating factor for his dismissal and in finding that there were no legitimate business reasons to terminate his employment. Respondents argued that the board did not clearly err in determining that the college violated the Act when it dismissed the employee because he engaged in a protected activity. The appellate court agreed with the latter argument and affirmed. (ZENOFF and DOHERTY, concurring)
