Genetic Information Privacy Act
In a putative class action lawsuit, the Illinois Appellate Court considered the question of whether the Genetic Information Privacy Act applies to life insurance underwriting. The court concluded that it does not and affirmed a circuit court order dismissing the plaintiff’s complaint for failure to state a cause of action. (McLAREN and BIRKETT, concurring)
