Retaliatory Discharge
Plaintiff filed a complaint for retaliatory discharge against her former employer, alleging that he was wrongfully discharged for reporting an inadequate supply of sterile gloves at the defendant’s nursing and rehabilitation facility. The trial court granted the defendant’s motion to dismiss and plaintiff appealed. The appellate court reversed and remanded, finding that the complaint was sufficient to state a valid cause of action where it alleged that plaintiff had expressed continuous concerns and made multiple complaints regarding a chronic lack of sterile gloves and where plaintiff was terminated with no substantive reason given for the termination.
