Carr v. City of Chicago

Plaintiff filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the defendants in a matter that arose out of a traffic-stop and a high speed chase. A jury found in favor of the defendant and plaintiff appealed, arguing that the trial court erred in its evidentiary rulings and jury instructions and that these errors deprived the plaintiff of a fair trial. The appellate court did not reach the merits of the appeal and dismissed it for lack of jurisdiction, finding that the appeal was not timely filed. (ODEN JOHNSON and TAILOR, concurring)
