Federal 7th Circuit Court
Criminal Court
Evidence
Defendant was found guilty of threatening to kill doctors, patients, and visitors at a Chicago abortion clinic in violation of federal law. On appeal, defendant argued that the federal law he was convicted under, 18 U.S.C. § 875(c), was unconstitutional, that the grand jury that indicted him was not adequately informed about the law, and that improper evidence was admitted at trial. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that defendant’s arguments lacked merit or that any error was harmless. (RIPPLE and LEE, concurring)
