Evanston seeks dismissal of suit brought by active fire captain over suspension for wearing Trump mask on duty

The City of Evanston is waiting for a ruling on a motion to dismiss a lawsuit against it that was brought by an active fire department captain who was one of several members suspended for posing for a photo in Donald Trump masks while on duty and in uniform on Jan. 20, 2025 — the day of President Trump’s second inauguration — at Fire Station 3 on Central Street.
