Jefferson v. Chicago Housing Authority

The appellate court considered an expedited appeal of the circuit court’s denial of the plaintiff’s motion to temporarily enjoin defendant Chicago Housing Authority from terminating her participation in the housing choice voucher program pending the outcome of her challenge to the merits of that decision. The circuit court concluded that plaintiff failed to make the requisite showing for injunctive relief. The appellate court disagreed and reversed, ordering the defendant to make retroactive rent subsidy payments pending the outcome of plaintiff’s challenge to its final decision.
